When to Enjoy

Florida’s oranges, tangerines, and grapefruit are at their best in December.

  • Store tangerines at room temperature, or in the refrigerator crisper drawer, for up to two weeks.
  • Store grapefruit at room temperature for up to one week, or in the refrigerator for two to three weeks.
  • Store oranges at room temperature, or in the refrigerator, for up to two weeks.
  • Hamlins and Valencia oranges are perfect for juicing, with two to four oranges producing one cup of juice.
  • It’s best to squeeze juice right before you drink it. If you’re planning to keep fresh-squeezed juice longer than overnight, make sure it’s refrigerated in a tightly-sealed container.
