- Chop pecans. Layer ingredients in this order in jar: flour, cocoa, sugar, chocolate morsels, and pecans. Place lid tightly on jar. Combine powdered sugar and sanding sugar (if desired), in zip-top bag. Attach bag to jar and give as gift with cooking instructions.

1. Set 1 cup butter out to soften. Preheat oven to 325°F. Coat two baking sheets with spray. Place butter in large bowl, then beat with electric mixer until fluffy. Beat in 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
2. Gently stir (or fold) in contents of jar (except sugar bag) until dough is formed. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on prepared baking sheets. Bake 20 minutes; remove from oven and allow cookies to cool completely on baking sheet.
3. Pour contents of zip-top bag into medium bowl. Roll cookies in sugar mixture; serve. (Makes about 30 cookies.)
