Medicare.
Publix is a preferred pharmacy in select Medicare plans, which means you may enjoy lower copays and greater savings on your annual prescriptions. The secret is choosing the right Medicare Part D plan for you. Whether you’re already enrolled in Medicare or you’re about to turn 65, it’s a great time to compare your options with the Healthpilot plan comparison tool.
The Healthpilot comparison tool allows you to review and compare all plans in which Publix Pharmacy is a preferred pharmacy and Healthpilot is affiliated. To expand your search beyond the plans in which Publix Pharmacy is preferred, deselect Publix Pharmacy in the filter and view other plans affiliated with Healthpilot. Medicare plans not affiliated with Healthpilot will not appear on the plan comparison tool.
The right time to enroll.
Enroll three months before or after your 65th birthday to avoid penalties. If you’re under 65, you may still qualify if you have received Social Security/Railroad Retirement Board disability benefits for over 24 months or have been diagnosed with end-stage renal disease or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (also known as ALS or Lou Gehrig’s disease).
Medicare Part D Open Enrollment, also known as the Fall Open Enrollment, takes place from October 15 to December 7 each year. This is your annual opportunity to review your current Medicare coverage, compare it with other options, and make changes to ensure you have the best coverage for your needs. During this time, those with Medicare can enroll in a new Part D plan, switch from one Part D plan to another, or switch from Original Medicare to a Medicare Advantage plan (and potentially enroll in a Part D plan at the same time). Changes made during this period will take effect on January 1 of the following year.
Medicare costs, benefits, and available plans can change each year. Reviewing your options can help you find a plan that better fits your health needs and budget.
