Ingredients
- 1-inch piece fresh ginger
- 1 gallon apple cider
- 1 (15 oz) can pumpkin puree
- ½ cup maple syrup
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- ⅛ teaspoon ground cloves
- ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- ⅛ teaspoon ground allspice
- 2 small sweet (or tart) apples
- 1 orange
Steps
- Peel and slice ginger; place in 6-quart slow cooker (or heavy-bottomed pot). Whisk in cider, pumpkin, maple syrup, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and allspice.
- Cover and cook on HIGH 1–2 hours (or LOW 2-3 hours), until hot and flavors have blended (if using pot, simmer 30–45 minutes, stirring occasionally). Meanwhile, slice apples and orange. Serve hot, garnished with apple and orange slices.
