Volcano Roll Dip Melts

Ingredients

  • 4 green onions
  • ⅓ cup chive & onion cream cheese spread
  • 1 cup Deli Volcano Roll Dip
  • 4 oz flake-style imitation crab meat
  • 1 tablespoon mild (or regular) chili crunch
  • 1 unsliced loaf Bakery Italian bread
  • 8 slices white (or yellow) American cheese
  • ¼ cup pickled jalapeño slices
  • 8 slices mozzarella cheese
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided

Steps

    1. Slice green onions thinly. Combine in large bowl: green onions, cream cheese, dip, imitation crab, and chili crunch. Stir gently until well blended. Cut bread into ¾-inch-thick slices.
    2. Assemble sandwiches in this order: bottom slice bread, 2 slices American cheese, 4 jalapeño slices, ½ cup dip mixture, 2 slices mozzarella cheese, and top slice of bread.
    3. Preheat large, nonstick sauté pan on medium 2–3 minutes. Melt 1 tablespoon butter in pan, swirl to coat, and add 2 sandwiches. Cook 4–5 minutes on first side until bread is brown and toasted. Flip sandwiches and add 1 tablespoon butter. Cook 4–5 more minutes until cheeses are melted, bread is toasted, and center is 165°F. Repeat with remaining 2 tablespoons butter and 2 sandwiches; serve.

    Chef's Tip: Keep first 2 sandwiches warm in a low oven while you cook the second batch of sandwiches.
