Ingredients
- 12 oz trimmed fresh green beans
- 2 cups water
- 1 (14.5 oz) can stewed tomatoes
- ½ cup diced fresh red onions
- 1 tablespoon cooked bacon pieces
- 1 tablespoon garlic-herb butter
- ⅛ teaspoon pepper
Steps
- Snap green beans if desired. Place beans and water in medium saucepan. Bring to a boil on high; cook 7–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until beans begin to soften.
- Drain beans; stir in tomatoes (do not drain), onions, bacon, butter, and pepper. Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook 10–12 more minutes, stirring occasionally, until beans are desired tenderness. Serve.
