Soy-Braised Cabbage

Ingredients

  • 1 medium head green cabbage, about 2 lb
  • 1 small sweet onion
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 2 tablespoons grapeseed oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon ginger spice paste
  • 2 tablespoons light brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon chili garlic sauce
  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce

Steps

    1. Thinly slice cabbage, onion, and garlic. Heat large sauté pan on medium-high for 2–3 minutes. Place oil, butter, onion, and garlic in pan; cook 2–3 minutes, stirring often, until onions soften. Add cabbage and salt to pan and cook 2–3 more minutes, stirring often, until cabbage begins to wilt.
    2. Add remaining ingredients and cook 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until cabbage is crisp tender; serve.
