Smoky Roasted Jalapeño Sour Cream

Ingredients

  • Nonstick aluminum foil
  • 2 jalapeño peppers
  • 2 limes, for zest/juice
  • ½ chipotle pepper in adobo sauce
  • ½ teaspoon McCormick Gourmet Organic Smoked Paprika
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon sazón seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper

Steps

    1. Preheat oven broiler to high; place oven rack at top of oven. Line baking sheet with foil; arrange jalapeños on sheet. Broil peppers 3–5 minutes, turning occasionally, until skin is completely blistered. Remove from oven and cover until cool.
    2. Peel blackened skin from peppers and dice, removing seeds. Zest limes (2 teaspoons) and juice 1 (2 teaspoons). Mince chipotle pepper (2 teaspoons). Combine in small bowl: jalapeños, lime zest and juice, chipotle peppers, paprika, sour cream, sazón, salt, and pepper until blended. Chill until ready to serve.
