Ingredients
- Parchment paper
- Cooking spray
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup brown sugar bourbon (or mesquite) seasoning
- 1 large egg
- ¼ teaspoon liquid smoke
- 1 ½ cups roasted whole cashews
- 1 ½ cups pecan halves
- 1 cup whole almonds
Steps
- Preheat oven to 300°F. Line baking sheet with parchment, then coat parchment with spray. Combine brown sugar and seasoning until blended.
- Separate egg for white (reserve yolk for another use). Beat egg white and liquid smoke in large bowl until frothy. Add nuts to egg white mixture; stir to coat. Sprinkle with seasoning mixture; toss to coat evenly. Spread nut mixture evenly on baking sheet (wash hands). Bake 25–30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes, until toasted, fragrant, and 160°F. Let stand to cool completely on baking sheet before serving. (Makes about 4 cups.)
