Slow Cooker Cola Ribs

Ingredients

  • 3 lb pork loin back ribs
  • 4 teaspoons mesquite seasoning
  • 2 cups barbecue sauce
  • 2 cups cola
  • 3 tablespoons liquid smoke
  • Nonstick aluminum foil

Steps

    1. Cut each rib rack into thirds. Coat ribs on both sides with seasoning (wash hands). Combine remaining ingredients (except foil) and whisk until blended.
    2. Place ribs and sauce in slow cooker; cook on HIGH 3–3 ½ hours (or LOW 6–6 ½ hours) until meat is 190°F.
    3. Preheat broiler on HIGH; line baking sheet with foil. Transfer ribs to baking sheet and brush with sauce from slow cooker. Broil 2–3 minutes until glazed; serve ribs with extra sauce on side.
Other Preparation Methods
    • Grill: Preheat grill (or grill pan) on medium-high. Combine 2 tablespoons each apple cider vinegar, hot sauce, maple syrup, Worcestershire sauce, and creole seasoning; coat 3 lb ribs (wash hands). Wrap ribs in foil; place on grill over indirect heat and cook 3 hours, turning occasionally, until 190°F. Remove foil; brush with barbecue sauce and cook 5 more minutes, turning often.
    • Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F. Place 3 lb ribs on foil-lined baking sheet; coat with 3 tablespoons barbecue seasoning and 2 cups barbecue sauce. Cover and bake 3 hours or until tender and 190°F.
