Ingredients
- ¼-inch piece fresh ginger
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon warm water
- 1 lemon, for twist/juice
- 2 oz Scotch
- Splash of club soda
Steps
- Peel ginger and slice into coins. Combine honey and warm water to make honey syrup. Cut strip of lemon peel for twist, then juice lemon (¾ oz).
- Muddle ginger, honey syrup, and lemon juice in cocktail shaker. Add ice and Scotch. Shake well; strain into an ice-filled rocks glass.
- Top with club soda and garnish with lemon twist.
Other Preparation Methods
For a sweeter, American twist.
Omit honey syrup; substitute honey bourbon for the Scotch and lemon-lime soda for the club soda.
Stick to the classics.
Combine 2 oz Scotch, 2 oz ginger ale, and 2 oz club soda to make a classic Presbyterian cocktail.
