Ingredients
- 2 cups salted pretzel sticks, divided
- 12 cups Deli popped popcorn
- 1 (2.5 oz) bag red apple chips
- 1 (2.5 oz) bag green apple chips
- ½ cup pecan pieces
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 12 large waffle cones (or bowls)
- 1 ½ teaspoons kosher salt, divided
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ⅓ cup light corn syrup
Steps
- Chop 1 cup pretzel sticks coarsely. Combine in large bowl: remaining 1 cup pretzel sticks, chopped pretzels, popcorn, red and green apple chips, and pecans; stir to blend.
- Place chocolate in microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on HIGH in 30 second intervals, stirring between intervals, until melted and smooth. Dip each cone rim into chocolate then sprinkle with a pinch of salt; insert cone into popcorn mixture, dipped rim up, for chocolate to cool and set. Repeat with remaining cones.
- Combine in small saucepan: butter, sugar, corn syrup, and remaining 1 teaspoon salt until blended. Bring to a boil on medium, stirring constantly, until butter and sugar are melted. Boil 4 minutes without stirring. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Remove cones from popcorn mixture. Pour caramel mixture over popcorn mixture and stir to coat evenly. Let cool slightly, then fill each cone with popcorn mixture; serve.
