Ingredients

  • 8 oz frozen whipped topping
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • ¼ cup water
  • 2 teaspoons instant coffee granules
  • 24 chocolate sandwich cookies
  • Large zip-top bag
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 box instant chocolate (or chocolate fudge) pudding mix (3.4–3.9 oz)
  • 1 ½ cups chocolate (or plain) milk
  • ⅓ cup sliced almonds
  • 2 tablespoons hot fudge topping

Steps

    1. Thaw whipped topping. Set cream cheese out to soften. Melt butter; heat water. Combine warm water and instant coffee; stir until dissolved, then set aside.
    2. Place cookies in zip-top bag (or food processor bowl) smash (or process) into fine crumbs. Stir in melted butter until blended; reserve ⅓ cup cookie mixture. Place remaining cookie mixture in 8-inch pie plate (or baking dish) and press to form crust. Freeze until firm.
    3. Place cream cheese, powdered sugar, and coffee mixture in medium bowl; beat with electric mixer until smooth. Stir (fold) in 1 cup whipped topping; spread gently over cookie crust.
    4. Place milk and pudding mix in separate medium bowl; beat with electric mixer 2 minutes or until pudding thickens, then spread evenly over cream cheese layer. Spread remaining whipped topping over pudding layer. Cover and chill 2 hours (or overnight).
    5. Microwave fudge topping following package instructions. Drizzle fudge over top of pie, then sprinkle with almonds and reserved cookie mixture. Serve.

    Chef's Tip: Decorate with gummy worms, candy corn pumpkins, or other holiday-themed toppings for a festive touch.
