  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 4 oz prediced onions (¾ cup)
  • 4 oz sliced baby portabellas
  • 2 tablespoons steak sauce
  • 4 (6-oz) ground beef (or chuck patties)
  • 4 slices Cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup ranch salad dressing
  • ¾ teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 4 hamburger buns

Prep

    • Preheat grill pan on medium-high (or preheat grill).

Steps

    1. Preheat large sauté pan on medium-high 2–3 minutes. Place butter in pan, then add onions, mushrooms; cook and stir 4–5 minutes or until softened and browned. Remove from heat; stir in steak sauce, set aside. Divide beef into four balls and form into patties, if needed (wash hands).
    2. Place burgers in grill pan (or on grill); grill 3–5 minutes on each side or until 160°F (for medium). Place cheese slice on top each burger during last minute of cooking.
    3. Place ranch dressing, and mustard in microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on HIGH 60–90 seconds, stirring twice, or until sauce is hot. Place burgers on buns; top with onion mixture and ranch sauce. Assemble and serve.
