Ingredients
- 4 medium sweet potatoes (about 2 lb)
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 ¾ cups reduced-sodium chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 teaspoons turbinado sugar
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
Steps
- Peel sweet potatoes; cut into ½-inch cubes. Chop garlic coarsely.
- Place potatoes, garlic, and broth in medium saucepan; cover and cook on medium-high 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until potatoes are soft when pierced with a fork.
- Remove pan from heat; do not drain. Mash potatoes, then stir in butter, sugar, salt, and cinnamon; serve.
