Grilled Dry-Rubbed Chicken Breasts with Tangy Barbecue Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 ¾ lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon barbecue seasoning rub
  • 1 lime, for zest/juice
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • ½ cup sweet (or regular) barbecue sauce

Steps

    1. Rub chicken with seasoning (wash hands); let stand at room temperature 20 minutes (or chill overnight) to marinate.
    2. Zest lime (1 teaspoon), then juice (1 tablespoon). Whisk lime zest, lime juice, vinegar, and barbecue sauce until blended.
    3. Preheat grill (or grill pan) on medium-high. Arrange chicken on grill; cook 14–18 minutes, flipping occasionally, until 165°F. Baste chicken with sauce during last 2 minutes of cook time. Remove chicken from grill and let rest 5 minutes; slice and serve.
