Ingredients

  • 3 lb chicken wings (or drumsticks)
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons garlic salt
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon chipotle hot sauce

Steps

    1. Preheat grill (or grill pan) on medium-low. Cut chicken wings in half at the joint if desired. Combine oil, chili powder, brown sugar, and garlic salt in large mixing bowl until blended; add chicken and toss to coat (wash hands).
    2. Place chicken on grill; cover and cook 20–30 minutes, turning occasionally, until chicken is 185°F. Combine honey and hot sauce; brush on chicken and cook 1–2 more minutes, turning occasionally, until skin is crisp. Brush with remaining sauce. Serve.

Chef's Tip: Coat bone-in chicken thighs with seasoning mixture and grill 30–40 minutes, turning occasionally, until 185°F; brush with sauce during last 2 minutes of cooking.
