Garlic Bread Blossom

Ingredients

  • 8 tablespoons salted butter, divided
  • 3 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 1 loaf Bakery sourdough round bread, unsliced
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup whole milk
  • ¼ cup sliced fresh green onions
  • 3 tablespoons lightly dried parsley
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • Parchment paper
  • 1 package garlic-herb spreadable cheese (5–8 oz)
  • Large zip-top bag
  • 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Steps

    1. Melt 3 tablespoons butter in small saucepan on medium. Add garlic; cook and stir 2 minutes or until garlic is golden. Add remaining 5 tablespoons butter and let melt. Remove from heat and let stand to cool.
    2. Cut bread into 12 wedges, leaving bottom intact. Combine in large bowl: eggs, mayonnaise, milk, green onions, parsley, and sugar; whisk until blended. Pour cooled garlic butter into egg mixture and whisk to blend.
    3. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line 10-inch round cake pan (or baking dish), with parchment (or foil). Whisk cheese until smooth and creamy, then place in zip-top bag (or piping bag), cut off corner of bag, and pipe evenly between wedges. Dip bread cut-side down all the way into garlic butter mixture, then place cut-side up in prepared pan and pour remaining garlic butter mixture over top.
    4. Bake 30–35 minutes until golden and crisp. Remove from oven and sprinkle with Parmesan, if using. Let stand 10 minutes; slice and serve.
