Ingredients
- 1 cup salted butter
- Nonstick aluminum foil
- 16 slices firm white sandwich bread (16–20 oz)
- 8 oz block sharp cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- ½ teaspoon powdered mustard
- 1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
- ¼ bunch fresh Italian parsley
- ½ teaspoon paprika
Steps
- Cut butter into cubes and place in large bowl to soften. Preheat oven to 375°F. Line baking sheet with foil. Cut crusts from bread slices. Shred cheese.
- Beat cheese and butter with electric mixer on MEDIUM until well blended. Beat in heavy cream, egg, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and pepper sauce until blended.
- Spread 1 tablespoon mixture each on 8 bread slices; top with remaining 8 bread slices. Cut each sandwich into 4 squares (32 total). Spread remaining cheese mixture over tops and sides of squares. Arrange 1 inch apart on baking sheet (wash hands). Bake 12–15 minutes until golden, crisp, and 160°F. Remove squares from sheet and arrange on wire rack. Let stand to cool 10 minutes. Remove parsley leaves from stems. Dust tops of squares with paprika and top with parsley. Serve.
