Ingredients

  • 1 small tomato
  • 1 small red onion
  • 2 prepared bacon-cheddar burger patties (16 oz)
  • 2 Bakery brioche hamburger buns
  • 2 slices American cheese
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 4 dill pickle chips
  • 2 leaves green leaf lettuce
  • 1 (12-inch) wooden skewers (optional)

Steps

    1. Preheat grill (or grill pan) on medium-high. Slice tomato and onion thinly.
    2. Place burgers on grill. Grill 3–4 minutes on each side until grill-marked and 160°F. Toast buns on grill and place cheese on burgers during last minute of cook time.
    3. Spread 1 tablespoon mayonnaise on each bottom bun. Assemble burger in this order: 1 bottom bun, pickle chips, burger patty, one-half tomato slices, 1 lettuce leaf, remaining bottom bun, sliced onions, remaining burger patty, remaining tomato slices and lettuce leaf, and 1 top bun (reserve remaining top bun for another use). Cut burger in half and secure with skewers, if using; serve.
