Ingredients
- ¼ cup honey
- ¼ cup water
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 2 whole cloves
- ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper
- 2 medium red grapefruit (or blood oranges)
- 2 medium navel oranges
- 3 small mandarin oranges (or tangerines)
- 1 tablespoon fresh mint
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Steps
- Combine in medium saucepan on medium-high: honey, water, cinnamon stick, cloves, and red pepper. Bring to a boil, then boil 1 minute; remove from heat.
- Peel citrus fruits, then slice each into ¼-inch-thick rounds. Strain honey mixture through fine mesh strainer (discard solids). Chop mint.
- Alternate citrus slices on platter; sprinkle with salt and mint. Drizzle honey mixture and oil over salad; serve.
