Ingredients
- 1 sheet frozen puff pastry
- Parchment paper
- 1 large Fuji apple
- ¼ cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon water
- 9 teaspoons honey, divided
- 2 ¼ cups vanilla ice cream
Steps
- Thaw pastry sheet. Preheat oven to 425°F. Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Remove core from apple, then slice thinly. Combine sugar, cinnamon, and salt in medium mixing bowl. Beat egg and water in second bowl. Place pastry on baking sheet.
- Brush egg over pastry; sprinkle evenly with one-half of the cinnamon mixture. Arrange apple slices on pastry, overlapping layers (shingling) and leaving a ½-inch border; sprinkle evenly with remaining half of the cinnamon mixture.
- Bake pastry 25 minutes, or until golden and puffed. Cut into 9 squares; drizzle 1 teaspoon honey over each square and serve with vanilla ice cream.
