2 servings
30 minutes total

Ingredients

  • 2 limes, for juice/wedges
  • ½ bunch fresh cilantro
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • ¼ cup minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon ginger stir-in paste
  • 3 oz sliced fresh green onions
  • 2 tablespoons chili-garlic sauce
  • 3 tablespoons ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • ½ cup water
  • 2 lb crab clusters

Steps

    1. Juice 1 lime (1 tablespoon); cut remaining 1 lime into wedges. Chop cilantro coarsely.
    2. Preheat large saucepan on medium 2–3 minutes. Place butter, garlic, ginger paste, and green onions in pan; cook 2–3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until garlic softens. Stir in chili-garlic sauce, ketchup, sugar, water, and crab. Cover and steam 3–4 minutes until crab is 145°F.
    3. Remove lid and simmer until liquid has reduced to about ¼ cup. Remove pan from heat and stir in lime juice and cilantro. Arrange crab clusters on large serving platter and drizzle with sauce (or serve on the side for dipping). Serve crab with lime wedges on the side.
