Caramel Puffs

Ingredients

  • Nonstick aluminum foil
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup light corn syrup
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 bag butter (or cheddar) flavored puffed corn (3–4 oz)

Steps

    1. Preheat oven to 300°F. Line baking sheet with foil. Combine butter, brown sugar, and corn syrup in medium, nonstick saucepan on medium. Bring mixture to a boil; cook 2 minutes, stirring frequently, until mixture blends and thickens. Remove from heat and stir in baking soda.
    2. Place puffs in large bowl. Pour butter mixture carefully over puffs and stir to coat. Use caution, mixture will be very hot. Spread puffs in single layer on baking sheet; bake 30 minutes, stirring halfway through cook time. Let stand to cool 5 minutes before serving.
