Ingredients

  • 1 orange, for peel
  • 8 oz bourbon
  • 2 oz coffee liqueur
  • 8 dashes orange bitters

Steps

    1. Peel 4 (1-inch) strips of orange skin. Fill cocktail shaker with ice; add bourbon, coffee liqueur, and bitters. Stir well until chilled (about 30 seconds). Strain into 4 chilled cocktail glasses.
    2. Twist orange peels over drinks to express oils, then add as garnishes.

      Make it for one.
      Cut 1-inch strip of orange peel. Fill cocktail shaker with ice; add 2 oz bourbon, ½ oz coffee liqueur, and 2 dashes bitters. Stir well until chilled (about 30 seconds). Strain into chilled cocktail glass. Twist orange peel over drink to express oils, then add as garnish.


      Little bit sweeter?
      Add ½ oz simple syrup (or more, to taste) in step 1.
