Ingredients
- ¾ cup water
- ¾ cup sugar
- ½ pint fresh blackberries or raspberries (5–6 oz)
- 1 jar blackberry or raspberry preserves (10–13 oz)
- 2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
Steps
- Combine in medium saucepan, water, sugar, and berries; bring to a boil on medium-high. Reduce heat to simmer; cook 5 minutes.
- Stir in preserves and pepper until preserves dissolve; remove from heat.
- Serve sauce over chicken, pork, beef, lamb, or even salmon.
