Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- ¼ cup flour
- 12 oz lager beer
- 1 cup half-and-half
- ½ teaspoon ground red pepper
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon ground white pepper
- 8 oz sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
Steps
- Melt butter in medium saucepot over medium. Sprinkle flour over butter; cook and stir 1 minute. Whisk in beer; reduce heat to medium-low and stir in half-and-half, red pepper, salt, and white pepper. Simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Whisk cheese into beer mixture until melted and smooth. Serve warm.
