Ingredients
- 3 green onions
- ¼ bunch fresh cilantro
- 2 limes, for zest/wedges
- 1 (24 oz) jar gefilte fish
- 2 tablespoons ginger stir-in paste
- 2 tablespoons garlic stir-in paste
- 2 tablespoons reduced-sodium soy sauce
- 1 ½ cups panko bread crumbs, divided
- ¼ cup + 2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds, divided
- ½ cup canola oil
- ½ cup spicy mayonnaise
Steps
- Slice green onions thinly; chop cilantro coarsely. Zest limes (2 teaspoons), then cut into 8 wedges each; drain gefilte fish. Combine in large bowl: onions, cilantro, gefilte fish, ginger paste, garlic paste, soy sauce, 1 cup bread crumbs, ¼ cup sesame seeds, and lime zest. Mix well and form into 16 equal patties.
- Combine remaining ½ cup bread crumbs and 2 tablespoons sesame seeds; coat patties with mixture.
- Heat oil in large, nonstick sauté pan on medium 2–3 minutes. Add patties (in batches) and cook 2–3 minutes on each side until golden and 165°F. Serve with lime wedges and spicy mayonnaise.
