Ingredients

  • ½ cup diced fresh yellow onions
  • 2 tablespoons reduced-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic stir-in paste
  • 1 teaspoon ginger stir-in paste
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 ½ lb ground chuck
  • ½ fresh peeled/cored pineapple
  • 1 large red onion
  • 6 radishes
  • 1 ½ cups nappa cabbage
  • 6 sesame seed hamburger buns

Steps

    1. Combine in large bowl: yellow onions, soy sauce, sugar, rice vinegar, garlic paste, ginger paste, sesame oil, and beef; mix well. Form into 6 patties (wash hands); chill 1 hour. Cut pineapple and red onion into 6 (½-inch-thick) slices each. Slice radishes thinly; shred cabbage.
    2. Preheat grill (or grill pan) on medium-high. Place patties on grill; grill 4–5 minutes on each side until 160°F. Place pineapple and red onion slices on grill; cook 2–3 minutes on each side just until softened.
