Air Fryer Churro-Style Rollups
12 servings
35 minutes total

Ingredients

  • 12 slices Bakery sourdough bread
  • 4 oz whipped cream cheese
  • 3 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • Cooking spray
  • ¼ cup maple syrup, for serving

Steps

    1. Remove crusts from bread; roll out individual slices to ⅛-inch thick. Whisk cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy. Spread about 2 teaspoons cream cheese mixture on each slice of bread, going to edges. Start on 1 long edge and roll up each slice tightly to seal.
    2. Place butter in shallow, microwave-safe dish, then melt. Place granulated sugar and cinnamon in second shallow dish; stir until combined. Dip each rollup in butter, coating all sides and letting excess drip off, then dip into sugar mixture, pressing with fingers to adhere. Arrange seam-side down on baking sheet and freeze 15 minutes or until firm but not frozen. Meanwhile, preheat air fryer to 350°F.
    3. Coat rollups with cooking spray, then arrange ½ inch apart in air fryer basket (In batches if needed). Cook 10–12 minutes, until coating is golden and crisp and filling is warm. Serve with maple syrup on the side for dipping.

Chef's Tip: Freeze rollups after air frying in step 3. To reheat, microwave on HIGH 2–3 minutes for a quick snack.

Air fryers vary; adjust time as needed.
