Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground chuck
  • 1 can spicy (or mild) chili beans (15–16 oz)
  • 1 (28 oz) can diced tomatoes
  • 1 (1.25 oz) packet chili seasoning mix
  • 1 (16 oz) jar medium chunky salsa
  • 1 (8 oz) bag shredded mild cheddar cheese
  • 1 (15 oz) package Bakery homestyle cornbread

Steps

    1. Preheat medium stockpot on medium-high 2–3 minutes. Place meat in pot; brown 5–7 minutes, stirring to crumble meat, until no pink remains and meat is 160°F. Drain fat.
    2. Reduce heat to low; stir in beans, tomatoes, chili seasoning, and salsa. Cover and simmer 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thoroughly heated and flavors are blended. Top with cheese and serve with cornbread.
