How to make this Canoe Picnic Table
Difficulty: Easy to Moderate
Time Required: approximately 1 hour
Materials
- (1) Canoe
- Hay bales (2) for the base of the table and (4) as the seats on either side of the canoe.
- Wood planks cut to fit the inside of the canoe
- Small to medium potted plants
Directions

Step 1
Place hay bales end to end to create a base for the table.

Step 2
Use the existing canoe anatomy (a bow seat, a yoke, a thwart, and a stern seat) to act as cross supports.

Step 3
Lay sturdy planks lengthwise on these supports to create the table surface.

Step 4
Fill the gaps at either end of the canoe with potted plants.
Tip
If your canoe does not have seats, etc. a 2 x 4 can be cut to size to wedge into the body of the canoe (just under the planks of wood) to be the support (1) in the center and (1) at either end. Once the boat is decorated, it's not intended to be used in water.
