Product details Veuve Clicquot Rose's is a reflection of the House's perpetual ability to innovate and audaciously lead the way. More than two centuries ago, rose champagnes were elaborated by coloration with a mixture made from elderberries. But this method didn't satisfy Madame Clicquot. She broke with the accepted practice and instead blended in some of her fine Bouzy reds with her classic champagne. Her talent in the art of re-creation gave us the world's first known blended rose champagne ever in 1818! The process endures today, and Veuve Clicquot Rose continues to share this audacious, ingenious spirit with the world. The coppery champagne, the burst of red fruit aromas...to achieve it, the blend is an essential element, a creative act. The Cellar Master and his team of experts select excellent quality red wines and still wines from some of the most sought-after vineyards in Champagne to find the flavors and characteristics that perfectly express the Veuve Clicquot Rose style. Made using 50 to 60 different crus, and 30 to 45% of Reserve wines, the cuvee is based on Yellow Label's traditional blend: the Pinot Noir predominance (50-55%) provides the structure that is so typically Veuve Clicquot, while Chardonnay (28-33%) adds the elegance and finesse essential in a perfectly balanced wine, and a touch of Meunier (15-20%) rounds out the blend. The blend is then completed with 12-13% of still red wine using red grapes, providing fruitiness. The long aging in our Crayeres (3 years minimum for Rose) gives silkiness to the Champagne. Veuve Clicquot Rose is the perfect champagne to accompany shared moments. It is especially recommended with tuna, beef carpaccio, duck, sun-dried tomatoes and even red fruits such as strawberries.
