For Use: Medsaway can be used for any drugs that are not furnished with disposal instructions. It is effective on narcotics, controlled substances, pills, liquid medications and transdermal patches. 1. Open the deactivating pouch at the end with the zip seal. 2. With the bag held upright, carefully add unused or expired medications - up to about 45 pills, or 6 oz. of liquid, or 6 transdermal patches. 3. Fill the bag about 1/3 (about 1 cup) full with warm tap water. Allow about 1/2 minute for contents to settle and then seal tightly. Gently shake to mix contents and then dispose of in the normal trash. As an option to avoid placing liquids in the trash; wait one week, pour water back into the sink (the drug will have been neutralized by adsorption into the carbon), then place the remaining bag contents into the trash.
