Product details Imperial coffee stout aged in bourbon barrels. 2017 release. In taking a cue from centuries of brewers, Hardywood Barrel Series beers are patiently matured in wooden barrels. After completing fermentation in stainless tanks, beers in the Barrel Series are carefully racked into 50-gallon barrels, where over several months, they undergo a metamorphosis, adapting complexity and character, a bit of color from charred White Oak and a beautiful mellow character that is only achieved when housed in wood. An assertive Imperial Stout aged 12 weeks in bourbon barrels and conditioned on custom roasted Sidamo coffee from Lamplighter Roasting Company, Bourbon Sidamo showcases the signature notes of whiskey, roasted malt and floral Ethiopian coffee. This robust stout displays a midnight hue with a caramel head and offers a dark chocolate character with subtle hints of blueberry from this unique coffee bean, rounded out by charred white oak that once held some of Kentucky's finest. www.hardywood.com.
