What is sous vide?
Sous vide is a method of cooking meat by vacuum-sealing it in a plastic bag and immersing it in a temperature-controlled water bath for several hours. The result? Moist, flavorful lamb shanks that will be the hit of your holiday dinner.

How to prepare your lamb shanks.
To heat Ruprecht’s Braised Lamb Shanks in Rosemary Mint Sauce in the oven, remove the shanks from their packaging. Place them in an oven-safe dish, cover with foil, and heat at 375°F for about 30 minutes until meat temperature is 195°F as measured by a food thermometer. To heat them on the stove, leave the shanks inside their packaging and immerse them in a large pot of simmering water for 15–20 minutes until the meat temperature is 195°F as measured by a food thermometer. Allow three minutes to rest before serving.

Heating Instructions


In a conventional oven:
1. Preheat the oven to 375ºF.
2. Remove lamb shanks and sauce from pouches.
3. Place in an oven safe dish.
4. Cover dish with aluminum foil.
5. Heat in oven for 20 minutes.
6. Remove foil and continue heating for an additional 10 minutes.
7. Remove from oven and allow to rest for 3 minutes before serving.

Stove Top (simmering water):
1. Fill a large pot with water and bring to a low simmer.
2. Place unopened pouches of lamb shanks in the water and heat for 15-20 minutes.
3. Remove pouches from water and allow to rest for 3 minutes before serving.
