Dolly's Favorite Yellow Cake: you will need: 1 cup milk; 4 large eggs; 1/2 cup melted butter. Directions: 1. Prep: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray bottom and sides of pan(s) with Pam Baking Spray. 2. Mix: Whisk cake mix, milk, eggs, and melted butter together in a large bowl until well blended, about 1 minute. Pour into pan(s). 3. Bake: Bake on rack in center of oven according to chart below. Cake is done when toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool cake(s) in pan on wire rack 15 minutes. Remove cake(s) from pan and cool completely before frosting. Pan Size: Two 8-inch; Bake Time: 24 to 28 min. Pan Size: Two 9-inch; Bake Time: 20 to 24 min. Pan Size: 13x9 inch; Bake Time: 24 to 28 min. Pan Size: 24 cupcakes; Bake Time: 16 to 18 min. Dolly's Extra Special Strawberries & Cream Cake: you will need: 1 container (16 oz) Dolly Parton's Buttercream Frosting; 1/2 cup thinly sliced strawberries; 3/4 cup heavy whipping cream; Additional halved strawberries, for decorating. Do Not Eat Raw Batter. 1. Bake: Mix and bake round cake layers according to directions above. Cool completely. 2. Mix: Pour heavy cream into large bowl and beat with an electric mixer on high speed until stiff peaks form, about 2 minutes. Scoop 2 tablespoons buttercream frosting into bowl of whipped cream and beat on low just until blended. 3. Decorate: Place one cooled cake layer on serving plate. Spread a thin layer of buttercream frosting over and top with thinly sliced strawberries. Place second cake layer on top of first. Frost entire cake with remaining buttercream frosting. Spread whipped cream on top of cake and decorate with halved strawberries. Slice, serve, and enjoy! Do not eat raw batter.
