Easy Setup: Wash your hands before unwrapping the filter. 1. Run cold water through filter for 15 seconds. 2. Insert filter into filter cage. Press firmly, then reattach to lid. 3. Add cold tap water. 4. Replace filter every 40 gallons (about two months). See user’s guide for detailed instructions. Discard your first pitcher of filtered water to flush out the system. We recommend using this water to water plants. For bests, store the Brita pitcher in your refrigerator or out of direct sunlight.
