In fact, New York City is where our founders Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield became childhood friends before establishing Ben & Jerry’s in Burlington, Vermont. So, in 1985, to honor our roots and make a name for ourselves in New York, we picked a New York name and created a flavor packed with more kinds of chunks than ever before. It was a bit over the top, but we figured that if the flavor was a hit with discerning New Yorkers, it would be a hit everywhere. It was, and it is. Flash forward to the present, and New York Super Fudge Chunk continues to be a fan-favorite. Of course, like all of Ben & Jerry’s frozen desserts, it doesn’t just taste great, but does great things too. Our ice cream recipe calls for only non-GMO sourced ingredients and eggs laid by cage-free hens. Fairtrade-certified producers supply the cocoa, sugar, and vanilla.
