1 medium sweet yellow onion
1 packet taco seasoning mix (about 1 oz–1.25 oz)
1 1/2 lb ground chuck
1 Hass avocado
2 medium plum tomatoes
12 Bakery dinner rolls (sliced for buns)
1/4 cup salsa/cheese dip


  1. Grate one-half of the onion (about 1 cup) into medium bowl. Add taco seasoning and ground chuck; mix to blend. Shape meat into twelve patties (about 1/2-inch-thick); wash hands.
  2. Preheat large sauté pan on medium-high 2–3 minutes. Add patties; cook 3–4 minutes on each side and until 165°F. Peel, pit, and slice avocado; slice tomato thinly.
  3. Place in each bun: beef patty, tomato, avocado, and 1 teaspoon cheese sauce. Serve.
