Cinnamon Apple Puff Pastry with Ice Cream

Cinnamon Apple Puff Pastry with Ice Cream
Total Time:
40 minutes

1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
Parchment paper
1 large Fuji apple
1/4 cup sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 large egg
1 teaspoon water
9 teaspoons honey, divided
2 1/4 cups vanilla ice cream

  1. Thaw pastry sheet. Preheat oven to 425°F. Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Remove core from apple, then slice thinly. Combine sugar, cinnamon, and salt, in mixing bowl. Beat egg and water in second bowl. Place pastry on baking sheet.
  3. Brush egg over pastry; sprinkle evenly with one-half of the cinnamon mixture. Arrange apple slices on pastry, overlapping layers (shingle) leaving a 1/2 inch boarder; sprinkle evenly with remaining-half of the cinnamon mixture.
  4. Bake pastry 25 minutes, or until golden and puffed. Cut into 9 squares; drizzle 1 teaspoon honey over each square and serve with vanilla ice cream.
