Cheesy Baked Spaghetti

8 oz spaghetti pasta
1 lb lean ground beef, 7% fat
1 cup frozen diced onions
1/4 cup frozen diced bell peppers
3 large eggs (or 3/4 cup egg substitute, divided)
1 teaspoon dried oregano leaves
1 teaspoon seasoned salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
1 (24-oz) jar tomato basil pasta sauce
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese


  1. Bring water to boil for pasta. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Cook pasta following package instructions.
  3. Combine in large bowl: beef, onions, peppers, 1 egg, oregano, seasoned salt, and garlic powder until blended. Spread mixture evenly in 13- x 9-inch baking dish (wash hands).
  4. Drain pasta thoroughly (do not rinse). Whisk remaining 2 eggs in medium bowl; stir in 1/2 mozzarella cup cheese until blended. Add pasta; toss to coat. Spread pasta evenly over meat mixture. Pour pasta sauce over top. Sprinkle with remaining 1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese. Bake 30–35 minutes and until meat is 165°F and fully cooked. Let stand 5 minutes before serving. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Serve.
