Cheese-Stuffed Burgers

Cheese-Stuffed Burgers
Total Time:
25 minutes

2 lb ground chuck
1 small yellow onion, finely minced
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
4 slices thick American cheese
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
freshly ground pepper, to taste
8 slices precooked bacon
4 Bakery hamburger buns, lightly toasted
Toppings such as lettuce, sautéed onions, tomatoes, and pickles

  1. Preheat grill. Mince onion (1/4 cup). Combine ground chuck, onion, and Worcestershire sauce just until combined. Divide into 8 portions and form into thin patties. Place cheese slices on 4 of the patties; top with remaining patties and pinch edges to form a tight seal (wash hands). Season patties with salt and pepper.
  2. Place burgers on grill; cook 3–4 minutes on each side or until desired doneness. Remove burgers from grill and let stand 5 minutes to rest.
  3. Toast buns. Heat bacon following package instructions. Assemble burgers, including desired condiments and toppings. Serve.
