Chefs Table: Nikkei Cuisine -- A Japanese-Peruvian Love Story

Class Description

"Nikkei" means Japanese outside of Japan. It is a century old gastronomic union of East meets Southwest. Opposites do attract and this is just an example of a match made in heaven!


Scallop Tiradito with Leche de Tigre (Scallop Ceviche); Nikkei Fried Fish Sliders with Sauza Criolla (Criolle Sauce); Lomo a la Parilla (Grilled Beef Tenderloin) with Aubergine (Eggplant) and Roasted Asparagus; Banana and Nutella Pasteis (Tarts) with Dulce de Leche Ice Cream.


Based on Japanese immigrants that settled in Peru, they learned to tie in their own traditional methods of cooking with ingredients available throughout Peru, making for a harmonious blend of coastal Spanish and Japanese cuisine. In this highly personal and interactive Chefs Table class, we will offer limited classroom style seating with a small ratio of students to instructors.

Each course will be paired with wine.
