You Can Tell if Your Pet is Smiling

dog, cat

There’s a good chance your pet is already smiling.

Note from Pixxie, the Publix pet:

We pets don’t need a face full of teeth to show how much we love you. We just wag our tails or meow like we had one too many treats. You can tell when we’re happy. When you pick up the leash or dangle a string and our ears go up—consider that a smile. But, if you want to be literal and see us smile like you silly humans, here are some pet dental tips.

  • Have your pet’s teeth checked at least once a year by a veterinarian or a board-certified veterinary dentist.
  • Have your pet checked out if they're showing any of the following symptoms:
    • Bad breath
    • Reduced appetite
    • Broken/loose teeth
    • Bleeding/discolored teeth
    • Swelling in the mouth

Keep on smiling,
