DIY Pet Toys. Fun for pets. More fun for owners.
Note from Pixxie, the Publix pet:
These toys are kind of free. You can make them by upcycling items lying around your home. Remember that sock your pet might have chewed a hole in? Start with that. Most of these repurposed toys are easy to make. Just follow the simple instructions in the slideshow or written instructions below.
Crinkly-Sock Toy: Take an old shirt and wrap it around the plastic bottle. Tie the shirt around the bottle with a thin strip of T-shirt.
Pup Pops: Mix together applesauce, peanut butter, plain yogurt, and honey. Fill an ice tray. Add a dog bone treat. Freeze until solid.
Kibble Sprinkler: Cut a few small holes in the sides of a plastic bottle that are large enough for kibble to pass through. Place some kibble in the bottle, screw on the cap, and let your cat get to work.
Feather Wand Cat Toy: Attach feathers, pom-poms, and jingle bells to the end of a stick using string, needle and thread. Shake in front of your cat.
DISCLAIMER: SAFETY FIRST! Be sure to supervise your pet when it plays with any kind of toy, and get rid of any toy/toys that may be falling apart. You don’t want your pet to swallow anything harmful. For pets only. Contains small parts. Keep out of reach of children.
