Apple Tartlets

2 ready-to-bake rolled piecrusts
2 medium apples, peeled/cored, finely chopped
1/2 cup sugar
3 tablespoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons fresh orange juice
1 teaspoon fresh orange zest
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves (or cinnamon)
1 cup whipped topping (optional)


  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly coat 8 cups of regular muffin pan with spray. Roll out piecrusts; cut 4 (4-inch) circles out of each crust and place in muffin pan cups.
  2. Combine apples, sugar, cornstarch, juice, zest, and cloves. Divide apple mixture into each crust. Bake 30–35 minutes or until apples are soft and crust is golden. Let stand to cool. Serve with whipped topping.

Other Preparation Methods

  • Waldorf Salad: Combine 2 cups chopped apples, 1 cup halved red seedless grapes, 1/2 cup chopped walnuts, 1/4 cup chopped celery, 1 cup mayonnaise, and 2 tablespoons sugar until blended. Chill until cold and ready to serve.
