Plantation: James Foster My Cooking School Shopping Cart

James Foster

James Foster’s winemaking career did not happen by chance. As a child, he was raised on the family farm, the historic Roseland Plantation in Eufaula, Alabama, where they farmed peanuts, hay and cotton. In time, his interest for cultivating the land would grow into a passion for the vine. Inspired by his father, who worked in the California wine industry, James went on to spend many summers working in cellars at various wineries, learning the full vineyard-to-bottle process of winemaking.

To further and finesse his knowledge of the winemaking process, he studied Enology at Fresno State University and completed the UC Davis wine education program. After graduation in 1998, James went on to work for The Wine Group. Throughout his years with the company, James has worked on brands that have provided wines for millions of consumers.

Today, James is happy to embark on a project that is all his own. Made by James is a wine collection that is truly reflective of his personal winemaking style and an expression of his 20 years of experience in the industry.
