Build kids' anticipation for a visit from the big bunny and all things Easter with an old-fashioned celebration held the weekend before the cheerful holiday.

Put a twist on standard kids' party fare with spring-inspired decorations and Easter activities. Show guests to their seats with edible place settings made of tasty chocolate bunnies perched next to egg-shape place cards. Bring a touch of sunshine indoors with a beautiful blooming centerpiece. Fill small wire baskets with Easter grass and foil-wrapped egg-shape candies. Wrap each basket with a large bow and tightly secure one to each chair with twine, and send them home with guests as pretty party favors.

Let your neighborhood Publix take care of the food prep to give yourself more time to enjoy your guests. But try a few clever serving ideas. Display bite-size foods and snacks in clean egg cartons or flowerpots, or use melon halves as bowls to serve fruit salad.
