Valentine Pouch Back to Event Details
Here's a fun way for kids to tote home the valentines they make at your card party and the ones they take to school!

Paper for making a pattern
Pencil
Scissors
Decorative-edge scissors
Two pieces of colored card stock
Ruler
Paper punch
Buttons (optional)
White craft glue
Ribbon
- Help younger children make a paper heart pattern that fits on the card stock. Cut out the pattern and trace it on one piece of card stock. Cut out the shape with regular or decorative-edge scissors.
- Place your heart pattern on the second piece of card stock and trace around it. Trace about ¼ inch away from the pattern so that this heart is slightly larger. Cut out the heart.
- Use a paper punch to create holes around the edges of the smaller heart, leaving a small area at the top unpunched. Our holes are about 1 inch apart and ½ inch from the edges, but exact spacing isn't necessary.
- Center the punched heart on the larger heart. Holding the two pieces together, use the holes as a guide to punch corresponding holes in the larger heart. Be careful not to let the hearts shift position as you punch, or your holes won't line up.
- Use ribbons or pretty buttons (if desired) and white craft glue to decorate your valentine pouch. Let the glue dry.
- Hold the two hearts together—lining up the holes—and weave pretty ribbon all around the edges. Tie the ribbon ends in a bow to create a handle.
